HSA Graduation

Sunday, July 17th, 2011

I’m moving house soon so I’ve also been moving my posts. I have removed a few things also elsewhere.

RSVP HSA Graduation

RSVP HSA Graduation

After completing my vocational course at Careers Australia I received an invitation letter from them. I already knew the event was going to happen though. This was one of the events I wanted to add to my imaginary calendar. I just came home from the graduation and am now writing my thoughts about it. Probably the highlight of the afternoon was meeting with the CEO of Careers Australia Group, Mr Walter Gilmore. He asked about the good and the bad of it all. I am not the type of person to hide anything, but I’ll keep our conversation confidential. I like to be honest with my learning experience. Overall it was a positive outcome. I met a lot of nice people and glad to have studied at Careers Australia. It is quite different to university because the units are based on competency and not on a grading system. It was almost as interesting as high school.

Gift HSA Graduation

Gift HSA Graduation

Not only have I already received my Certificate III in Health Services Assistance, Careers Australia prepared gifts to all the students that came to the graduation. There were photos taken also. There’s a fair bit of history from the building that they stand on. Careers Australia is relatively quite new in terms of business years. The receptionist was pretty excited also to have been promoted, but Amber stayed downstairs. I believe there are five levels in the building. Two elevators that run up and down most of the day. The graduation was held on the third floor. We met a lot of the staff, but it would have been awesome to see some of our missing educators. There was plenty of finger food to eat. I saw most of the students from group 5. There was a colleague who worked today, but still managed to show up later.

Max HSA Graduation

I received a fair bit of support from Max Employment in Oakleigh. It was their idea to get me hooked into the course. They actually preferred Aged Care, but I chose HSA. My consultant Maureen had a friend who worked in Careers Australia. I saw a glimpse of Scott poking his head through the doors. The key staff I knew at the graduation was Rhonda, Shaun, Michelle, and Cynthia. It was a private function, but nevertheless a promotional opportunity for Careers Australia. I may find myself volunteering and also working in a hospital later on. I’ll reveal more when things become more concrete. I’m also in the middle of moving house. I’ll say farewell, but not goodbye to Clayton. Over 20 years living in the same suburb was not too bad.

Testing for Depression Online

Tuesday, July 12th, 2011

I took a test online to see if I had signs of depression. There were a fair bit of questions so I didn’t really bother remembering most of them. I do remember the ones asking about the weather and latitude. I often use music and anime as an excuse to feel better. Lately, I’ve been spending a lot of time playing online games. This is really not a good sign if I want to volunteer in a job that requires empathy. I need to take care of myself first because I think I’ll just put others in danger. If I thought of an ideal job this is probably it. Blogging online as it requires the least interaction from the world.

Common Cold “Rhinovirus Infection”

Sunday, June 5th, 2011

I’m a student (Health Service Assistance) once again and completing my last week of clinical placement (The Alfred Hospital). I saw a message on the wall about the common cold and thought I’d do a little research. I summed it all up in one page.

Calm and Waiting

Calm and Waiting
The embed code is really simple now thanks to YouTube. Just thought I’d share it here also because Google has been so nice to me. I don’t think I could make a career as an affiliate or internet marketer professionally. I just finished a week studying a vocational course in the city. Only seven more weeks to go and hopefully I’ll gain a certificate and become a qualified Patient Service Assistant (PSA). It’s something new to me, but I think I have the attributes to be successful. It’s tough when you have parents that like shouting a lot.

Current Photo Looks Goofy

Thursday, April 14th, 2011

Just thought I’d take a photo of myself today. It’s been a while and I never seem to get a nice eye opening image. I tried to smile so give me some credit for that. I feel good.

Health Services

Thursday, April 14th, 2011

I’m finally starting to rub off my bad habits and unproductive self and moving onto a more needed field. Skills in demand in Australia have a range of categories that people are simply not applying for. Health services being one of them. I can understand that qualified people from overseas may start taking jobs here too. I’m interested to label myself as a male nurse. It’s all a new passion of mine so I have a bunch of stuff that needs to be known. Let’s see how well I can build myself up on this career path.

On a separate note, the house I live in will be auctioned this coming Saturday morning. If the price is right we may sell. If not then we’ll look for other options. It’ll be funny though. Not quite ready to say goodbye to Clayton just yet. I also started a new project on my main home page called Pelona. I know I said that most of my posts will remain there, but these sub-domains are still useful in venting extra stuff. So the question now is… what am I going to do with the clarinet?

So You Decided To Cross The Red Man

Friday, March 4th, 2011

Today I was fined $60 as a pedestrian. Not a car in sight and the highway patrol police not in uniform on the other side of the road. The car lights are red yet the pedestrian crossing is still showing the red man. I jogged across the road in about 3 seconds and heard a voice stop me. Crossed the road and the green man lights were up. What does this person want?

The Victoria Police seems to have had complaints about accidents on Clayton Road. The funny thing is in 20 years I’ve been living here I have not received an infringement notice. A law that felt like it did not exist until today. Almost feel sorry for the other man who crossed the road with me. I wouldn’t have a problem with this if the Nunawading ENG HWP did this every day.

The amount of people who cross the red man every day is amazing. On my way back home today I saw someone who did not get caught. My mother told me if I could do something about it considering it is a first offense. I tried to contact some authorities and sadly their response was either the court fees would exceed the fine or ask me the same question as why do you think it’s not wrong?

If only these laws were more transparent I wouldn’t have to be searching online for information. So the deal is… even though there’s no cars in sight (which is a requirement for traffic) and the traffic lights are red you will still be fined because the red man light for pedestrians is still up. I would argue that I was not a hindrance to road safety and there was no risk of collision. There’s really no point going to court with this because I really can’t be bothered…

If anyone knows what Nunawading ENG HWP stands for please leave a comment. More specifically what does ENG stand for. I believe HWP stands for Highway Patrol. Anyway, if you want to learn more about road safety don’t ask me. I’m really not that interested. Congratulations, however, to myself for receiving my first traffic ticket offense “Red Man”.

Training At The Gym

Monday, February 28th, 2011

I’ve kind of been keeping it a secret working out at the gym. I joined the Clayton Aquatics and Health Club 2-3 weeks ago. I signed up with Amy and my trainer Chris. Not exactly a personal trainer, but just to get me started. I believe I’ve almost reached my goals. Today I just ran 9.6 km/h for 12:37 minutes with a distance of 2 km. I’ll be really happy if I can run 2 km in under 10 minutes.

The reason for training is a requirement to join the Navy. I hope I can get in as a musician. If not then I’ll continue what I’m doing now. I’ll keep it updated on the recruiting process. Maybe then I can start smiling some more. They did say that getting into a Defence Job is a great achievement. Glad I’ve got some goals to look forward to.

Another note… I probably won’t be living in Clayton much longer. I’m in the process of moving house and the agent should be advertising tomorrow. Hopefully it’s not too soon. I’m waiting for something to arrive in the mail. I also found the CD for my VHS to DVD software. I could probably make it a business, but I’m not going to. It’s just converting analogue into digital.

Needs More Attention

Friday, February 25th, 2011

It’s past midnight and I still have to tidy up my room. Someone will be coming to the house today to take some photos. Planning on selling the house. There’s already an auction sign at the front. On top of that I’m thinking of applying for the Royal Australian Navy. Past few days I’ve been training at the Clayton Aquatics and Health Club. It’s really hard to stay in a good mood.

So much for making my dreams come true. My eyes feel heavy and just wants to go to sleep. Muscles are sore and now I’m starting to sound like a bunch of excuses. I’ll be laughing in the end though if everything goes as planned. I’ve been trying to hide my bad habits… Almost forgot I was adding this new post. Anyway, I can’t stop thinking about tidying up my room now. There’s pretty much nowhere to hide all the mess anyway. Only option I have is to throw the junk away.

I’ve been posting new videos for the Clarinet Community website. Next topic is going to be about pizza. I can’t remember if I had another topic in mind, but I’m pretty sure that’s what it’ll be. I’d like to think I’m going a little crazy because I have so much on my mind at the moment. I can’t really be bothered sharing my thoughts with family and relatives. If they want to read my posts then they can search for it like everyone else. Which brings me back to the title of this page. Needs more attention is referring to tidying up my room.

Fitness for Defence

Monday, February 7th, 2011

I just signed a 3 month contract at a local fitness center. No strings attached since I already paid up front. After this period membership will automatically be terminated. There’s 2 requirements that I must attend with a trainer this week. This fitness and strength workout will get my confidence and happiness increased. There’s one catch that I’m willing to do this. I’m thinking of applying for the Australian Defence Force. Depending on how well my physical capabilities improve this will see the available options. They seem to go through a fair bit of processing. I’m already having second thoughts.

I’m hoping my medical history will not affect my application. I rarely see a doctor, but I did take my first CT scan today. Nothing serious. I’m also going to take another blood test. My head feels pretty heavy right now. Might faint again since I have to fast meaning no breakfast.
